Principal’s Message
Bienvenidos! Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!
It is an honor to have the opportunity to lead my one and only campus! I started working at Salinas Elementary in 2001 and have served in different capacities including substitute, teacher, resource teacher, lead teacher, and Assistant Principal. In 2021, Hidalgo ISD gave me the opportunity to lead as Principal; My 3 children were Jr. Pirates from PK3 to 5th grade, so Salinas Elementary students and families hold a very special place in my heart.
Mrs. Chong and I are committed to ensuring student safety, quality instruction, and developing learning opportunities for students and teachers. Our teachers teach from the heart, foster a nurturing learning environment that promotes a growth mindset, and encourage students to take initiative of their own learning. At Salinas Elementary, administrators, teachers, support staff, paraprofessionals, custodians, bus drivers, cafeteria ladies and maintenance, all work as a team to make sure our little ones receive the best loving and caring learning environment.
